Drag & drop files and folders into the Files app within the Files listing panel, where it says Drag & drop your files here. Alternatively, click “Create” and then select “Upload File” or “Upload Folder” to upload files or folders from your local computer.

When you upload files or folders, a dialog appears at the bottom right, showing their progress. You can minimize the dialog or navigate to other parts of the platform without interrupting the file upload. When uploading a folder, it creates that Folder and then continues uploading all the files.

  • Click X at the top right corner of the dialog to cancel the file upload. This will prevent further files from being uploaded to the Files app (the ones uploaded remain).
  • Click the down arrow button to minimize the dialog, allowing it to continue uploading the files in the background.
  • Click Clear to remove all the uploaded files from the dialog.

When you upload a file into the Files app, the creation date is set to the file upload date & time. This means the actual files could be created long before they’re uploaded.

The Files app does not restrict file types uploaded, but it provides an option for tenant administrators to restrict uploading certain file types (based on their content) into the drive.

Right-click a file/folder to access the context menu and perform the appropriate action. Double-click a folder to navigate into the folder, or open the file in a preview window. Go Back from the sub-folder returns to the parent folder.

Likewise, clicking Go Back from a file preview will return you to the containing folder.
